The fast 3/8 mile oval will feature the Modifieds, SportMods, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and new for this season the Sport Compacts; all sanctioned by the International Motor Contest Association (IMCA). “We feel that we needed an inexpensive class to get our young race fans involved in this great sport,” expressed DCR promoter Allen Wissmann. The United Rebel Sprint Series (URSS), the Super Late Model Racing (SLMR) Series and the Outlaw Vintage Lites will make appearances at the track on select nights also. During the two visits to DCR by the Sprint Cars and one visit by the Late Models, the Sport Compacts are not scheduled to race. Dawson County Raceway will begin the season with a test and tune day on Sunday, April 29th from 2:30-5p.m. The pits will open at 1:30. Participating drivers will need to complete a registration before practice. The season opener will be on Sunday May 6th. A season ending banquet is also scheduled for December 15th at the Holiday Inn Express in Lexington. Grandstand admission prices for the 2012 season will be $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12 on regular nights of racing. Admission to the Outlaw Vintage Lites races on June 3rd will be $12 for adults, children ages 6-12 will be $5. During both of the visits by the URSS events on May 20th and July 22nd, the admission prince will be $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 6-12. When the Super Late Models come to town on July 8th, the admission price for adults will be $20, and $10 for children ages 6-12. Pit Passes will be $25 every race night.
