Neal, Dominacki, Oberbreckling, Meyer, Harms, Mohr and Staskal
take Opening night Wins

MAQUOKETA, Ia (May 6, 2006) - Saturday night was the season points opening races
at Jackson County Speeway, a food field of race cars shoewed up to battle
to take the early points leads. Jon Merfeld crabbed the early lead of the
non-stop twenty-five lap IMCA Late Model feature with Mark Preston taking over
on lap three. Preston tried, but couldn't hold off the pressure of first heat
winner, Terry Neal, as Neal took the point on the seventh lap and held on the
rest of the way. Preston held on for second with Mike Murphy Jr. third, second
heat winner, Ryan Duhme fourth and Kevin Blum fifth.
First heat winner, Bob Dominacki, used his front row starting spot to take the
lead of the V8 Modified feature and never relinquished it, as he led all the way
to take the victory. Second heat winner and ninth place starter, Tim Current
battled his wat forward to take secondwith Andy Cook third, Ray Cox Jr fourth
and last years point champion, Doug Crawford fifth.
Street Stock feature pole sitter, Shane Oberbreckling led the race flag to flag
to take the win. Holding off first heat winner, Brian Bonney early in the race
and then Chris Litscher the rest of the race. Litscher could get up beside
Oberbreckling, but had to settle for second. Jon Poll was third with Corey Booth
fourth and second heat winner, Dan Klatt fifth.
B.J. Jackson grabbed the early lead of the B Modified feature, but it didn't
take long before the cautions started flying. By the end of the second lap three
cautions had flown with seven different cars involved. On the third lap restart
Ron Benhart took over the point, but wasn't able to hold it long as Jarrett
Franzen took over on lap four. On a seventh lap restart Kelly Meyer sot to the
front and stayed there until the final caution flew at lap ten. The race was
called over, due to the cautions. Rick Galloway was second followed by Franzen,
Brandon Vorbeck and Benhart, in that order. Vorbeck, Meyer and Mike Baker were
the heat winners.
Ray Costello used his pole starting spot to lead the first lap of the Hobby
Stock feature with last years champion, Sheldon Hunter taking over on lap two.
On lap four second heat winner, Steve Harms charged out front and stayed there
the rest of the way for the win. Hunter held on for second with Ryan Steffen,
Jeff Specht and Kevin Brame rounding out he top five. Don Marcov Sr. won the
other heat.
Before a lap was scored in the 4 Stock feataure Jeff Dau rolled his car going
down athe back chute, gathering in third heat winner, Harry Rogers with him,
sending both cars to the pits. Mike McGarry took the lead of the first lap with
Dustin kay taking over on lap two. First heat winner, Dan Mohr took over the
point on a sixth lap restart and led the rest of the way for the win. Second
heat winner, Brannon bechen was second. McGarry held on for third with Jim
Bealer fourth and Cory Coppess fifth.
After winning the Trophy Truck heat race, Alan Staskal came back to lead the
feature flag to flag for the win. Joe Bonney was second followed by Ethan
Milder, Bruce Yoerger and Jed Holland, in that order.
The Midwest Jalopies also visited the track and had Butch Dunn win the feature.
Rodney Hack was second with Jerry Caylers third, heat winner, B.J. Haack fourth
and Bob Mingst fifth.
