An action packed
night of racing was in store again at The Hamilton County Speedway

RADCLIFFE, IA (May 27, 2006) - An action packed night of racing was in store again at The Hamilton County Speedway this Saturday night. Starting the racing program with double features in the Econo Stock and Hobby Stock divisions, the fans we would not leave the exits dissapointed.
The night was started off with The Econo makeup feature from a week ago. T.J. Mortenson was able to power his way to the race lead and not look back. Mortenson would pick up the win followed by Austin Wolfgram, Devin Smith, and Matt Ring.
The next feature was the completion of the Hobby Stock feature from a week ago. Justin Ades was able to make the move to the top spot and would walk away to take home the trophy. Brad Shipper would battle up front but, would have to settle from second. Brandon Toftee and Kevin Schmauss would round out the top four.
Now the table was set to get under way with night number seven. The Neighbors Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing Stock Cars would take center stage for their 15 lap Feature. Jared Dirks would grab the lead early but it would not last long as Ried Keller would snatch it away. Reid Keller would continue to lead and open a large margin that would extend all the way to victory lane. Keller would get the win followed by Dirks, Joe Paullin, and Todd Foster.
The Conleys Trucking Limited Modifieds would be next on the speedway and Rookie Nate Caruth would lead on lap one. As Caruth continued to lead, Ryan Giles and Ryan Gustin would swap the runner up spot back and forth allowing Caruth to extend his lead. As the laps counted off Giles, Gustin and Lettow would take a look for the lead, but Caruth would not be denied. Caruth would pick up the win followed by Matt Lettow, Doug McCollough, and Ryan Gustin.
The West Wind Logistics Modifies feature had John Logue and Dave Doughty battling it out for the lead for several laps until Logue was able to take it away. As the laps wore on Jimmy Gustin and John Snyder would make their way to the front but they were no match for Logue. Logue would get the win followed by Dave Doughty, Gustin and Snyder.
The Dinsdale Motors IMCA Late Model Feature was full of action packed racing all over the speedway. Jason Hahne was able to lead for the first two circuits until being passed coming to lap three by Al Johnson. Johnson would continue to lead as he had DeFrance at a great distance giving chase. Mike Smith would also make an attempt to real in the race leader but would be out of time. Al Johnson would pick up the win followed by DeFrance, Smith and Craig Jacobs.
Econo Stocks were next to do battle as the fans saw action all over the race track from start to finish. T.J. Mortenson and Devin Smith would come together racing for the lead spinning both cars around. Donovan Nokes would take over the captain’s chair with 3 laps to go. Through several more restarts and another altercation with Mortenson and Smith, Nokes would race Wolfgram through the final turn and with stand the contact to take home the top prize.
The finale of the evening was the Performance Electric 12 lap Feature event. Brandon Toftee was able to take the top spot to start and lead though most of the race. As the laps counted off Mark Haglund was able to make it to the 2nd position and make the move. Haglund would push the car on the bottom of the racetrack allowing Toftee to power away to the checkered flag. Toftee would be followed by Mark Haglund, Kevin Schmauss and Todd Wilson.
A truly great night at The Historic Half Mile and night number seven is in the books. Don’t forget next Saturday night is Kids night with car rides for the kids, candy and nickel toss, as well as, bicycle giveaways. Hot Laps start each and every Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. with racing to follow. Hope to see everyone next Saturday night for Kids night.
