Hy-Vee Kids Night at The Hamilton County Speedway packs the grandstand during
the 2006 Hamilton County
Fair.
RADCLIFFE, IA (July 29,

This Saturday night at
The Hamilton County Speedway was sponsored by Hy-Vee, Thrifty White, Williams
Drug and Town and County Insurance. Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles
brought the kids from far and wide this Saturday Night. $200 in nickels, candy,
3 bicycles, four $50 Gfit Cerificates to K-Mart from HCSRA and over 200 various
prizes were given away to children which offered a lot of fun and excitement for
the whole family.
The first feature event of the night was the Econo Stock division. Perne
Struchen was able to lead his machine for the entire 10 lap event on his road to
Victory Lane. Perne Struchen was able to pick up the win after being upside down
in his ride the night before. Struchen was followed by T.J. Mortenson, Austin
Wlofgram, and Les Langfit. Austin Wolfgram picked up the heat race win.
The Performace Electric Hobby Stock feature was next to the track. Curt Hook was
able to take the 75 ride to the front from deep in the field and grab the lead
as the laps counted off. Todd Wilson would run second and try to run Hook down,
but Hook was able to power away with the feature victory. Wilson, Mark Haglund,
and Curt Graham would round out the top four. Todd Wilson and Kevin Schmauss
would pick up heat wins.
The Neighbors Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing Stock Car Feature event was next on
the raceway. Rusty Fister would lead the race as he was challenged by Jeremy
Ades and Mitchell Griffith. Griffith and Ades would continually try to take the
lead away along the bottom of the track but Fister was able to motor away with
the feature win. Todd Foster, Jeremy Ades, and Jason Wagoner would round out the
top four. Rusty Fister and Robert Dilley would pick up the heat race wins.
The Conleys Trucking Limited Modifieds would take over the speedway next and
Ralph Risius would flex his muscle early. Doug McCollough would work his way to
second until Nate Caruth would Nitro by and power all the way to the front of
the field. Lettow was able to motor his machine to second but would have to
settle for the position. Caruth picked up the win followed by Matt Lettow, Doug
McCollough and Ryan Gustin. Ryan Caquelin and Matt Lettow picked up heat race
wins.
The West Wind Logistics Modifieds were on the track and once again Scott Olson
would put his ride in the captains seat. Olson would lead the race throughout as
Jon Snyder would ride right behind him. Snyder would was able to close in on
Olson on long runs but would fall back on the restarts. As the laps counted off,
Snyder put the 34X racing for a cure ride in the position to take the spot away
but Olson would slam the door shut and pick up the feature win. Olson was
followed by Jon Snyder, Joe McBirnie and Scott Baker. Jimmy Gustin and Randy
Havlik would pick up the heat wins.
The Dinsdale Motors IMCA Late Models would be the final race of night #14. Riley
Larson would grab the lead early until on lap #3 Jeff Segebart from Westside,
would take the spot. Craig Jacobs would take his machine to second and on lap
#5, jacobs would lead the race. Jacobs would continue to lead the feature around
the Historic Half Mile until Todd Cooney would make the final pass on lap #12
for the lead. Cooney would extend to a 20 car length advantage on his way to the
Dinsdale Motor, Hy-Vee trophy. Cooney was followed by Jacobs, Darrel DeFrance,
and Jeremy Grady. Ryan Griffith, Todd Cooney and Darrel DeFrance would pick up
the heat race wins.
Another night of racing was put into the record books this Saturday night at The
Hamilton County Speedway. We hope to see everyone again next Saturday Night for
Hot Laps at 6:00 p.m. with racing to follow at the Hamilton County Speedway.
