Jon Snyder picks up first career Modified Feature Win.


WEBSTER CITY, IA. (Aug. 12, 2006) - Another night of racing came to close this past Saturday night at The Hamilton County Speedway. With the season coming to a close in a few short weeks, the points battles are heating up in every division.

The night was kick started with the running of the Econo Stock Feature. Mason Gilbert would lead his machine early in the race as he was chased by T.J. Mortenson. Finally, Gilbert would push his machine high on the racetrack and Mortenson would take full advantage. Mortenson would make the final pass for the lead and take home the trophy. Austin Wolfgram, Perne Struchen, and Trent Dixon would round out the top four. Mortenson would also win the heat race.

The Performance Electric Hobby Stocks were next to take the speedway and this one would go green to checkered without a yellow for the second straight week. Just like last week, Curt Graham would take his machine to the front and grab a huge lead on his way to the checkered flag. Graham was followed by Mark Haglund, Curt Hook and Brad Schipper. Curt Graham and Roger Haupt Jr. would pick up the heat race wins.

The Neighbors Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing Stock Cars were next on the raceway. Jon Byriel and Randy Smith would swap the lead early in the race as Scott Bloemke would follow. Randy Smith was finally able to take the lead but it would not last long. Lance Deal would power to the front in a hurry and take over the lead around the bottom side of the racetrack. Scott Bloemke would follow Deal to second but would have to settle for the position. Lance Deal would pick up the win followed by Bloemke, Smith and Jason Minnehan. Jared Dirks and Jason Wagoner would pick up heat race wins.

The Conleys Trucking Limited Modifieds were next to grace the speedway and this was a good one start to finish. Ryan Caquelin was able to lead his machine early as their were 5 cars on his back bumper trying to take the spot. Ryan Giles was able to slide underneath Caquelin and take the top spot away. Lettow was able to make his way to second on the track but would be out of time in the final turn. Ryan Giles would pick up the feature win followed by Matt Lettow, Ryan Gustin, and Doug McCollough. Nate Caruth and Ryan Caquelin would pick up heat race wins.

West Wind Logistics Modifieds would make their way to the track for their 20 lap feature event. Jon Snyder would start on the pole and he would waste no time taking the lead at the start. As the laps counted off, Adam Larson was able to work his 2L machine into the second position but would need an extremely heavy right foot to catch Snyder. Snyder would have his Neighbors 34X wound tight against the top and Snyder would pick up his first ever Modified Feature win. Snyder was followed to the stripe by Larson, Denny Rosenberg and John Davis. Scott Williams and Denny Rosenberg would pick up heat race wins.

The Dinsdale Motors IMCA Late Models would be the final race of the nights program. Just like the week before, Robert See would burst out to the lead early as Jeff Segebart would give chase. While See would lead the car high on the speeway, Al Johnson was able to motor to the top spot and take the lead. As Al Johnson continued to lead his car on the bottom of the track, Todd Cooney was able to find some real estate and take the lead away. Al Johnson would try several more times take the lead back, but it was all over. Todd Cooney would pick up the feature win followed by Al Johnson, Kelly Tapper, and Mike Smith. Kelly Tapper, Mike Smith and Jeff Segebart would pick up heat race wins.
