2006 ASALMS Challenge Division Champion and Pat Bourdow
Memorial Rookie of the Year; Kelly Bires wins at the Iowa (IA) Speedway.

NEWTON, IA. (Oct. 14, 2006) - The crown jewel of the ASA Late Model Series
Presented by GM Performance Parts, the televised Challenge Division has
completed it's final points race of the 2006 season at the immaculate Iowa (IA)
Speedway in Newton, Iowa.
The ASALMS Challenge Divisions 2006 Season Championships were at the fast 7/8s
mile progressively banked paved oval located East of Des Moines in Newton, Iowa
for the 11th and final points race of the 2006 season for the televised ASALMS
Challenge Division; The Northland Oil 250 Presented by TMC Transportation.
The ASALMS Challenge Division events in 2006 are being televised on a tape
delayed basis The Men’s Outdoor and Recreation Network, I-Drive TV, and Mav TV
networks, all available on Dish Network as well as select cable outlets.
Airings for the events will be on a tape delayed basis on Wednesdays at 7:00pm
on IDrive TV and then again at 4:30pm on the Men’s Outdoor and Recreation
network on Saturdays followed by a repeat airing back on IDrive also on
Saturdays at 9:00pm.
2006 ASALMS Challenge Division Champion and Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the
Year, Kelly Bires put an exclamation point on an already successful 2006 season
as the Mauston, Wisconsin freshman led the final 230 laps to win his sixth
Challenge Division, and seventh overall ASALMS Feature win of the 2006 season!
