Leslie Essary Takes His Second Win This Season

SILOAM SPRINGS, AK (May 12) - The Show-Me Racin Series was at West Siloam
Speedway in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
There was a huge crowd on hand to watch the Show-Me boys battle it out.
Twenty-six late models were on hand in Siloam allowing for four exciting heat
races.
Kevin Patrick in the 13 took the win in heat one. The 5e of Leslie Essary
finished in the top spot in heat two.
Heat three was won by the 10 of Justin Wells. Heat four was won by the 00 of Jim
Fulp.
Ten cars were left to fight for the top four transfer positions for the A
feature. The four transfer positions from the B feature were the 6 of Chad Pyle,
the 29 of Chris Powell, the 60 of Darrin Barton, and the 16 of Adam Gauntey. Two
provisional positions were awarded to the F7 of Scott Fry and the 31 of Ron
Johnson based on points.
The 98 of Ken Patterson started on the pole of the 30 lap A main. Patterson
brought the pack around to the green and they were off. The 27 of Kenny
Hartwigsen jumped out to the lead. Lap nine brought out the first caution of the
night for the 7a of Justin Asplin who spun in turn four. On the restart the 04
of Jeremy Kelley, Jarrod Hilton in the 11, and the 29 of Chris Powell piled up
in turn three and four bringing out another caution. Two laps later, the 13 of
Kevin Patrick spun bringing out the third caution of the night. Hartwigsen was
still the leader but the 5e of Leslie Essary was coming on hard and fast.
Hartwigsen held him off until lap 14 when Leslie finally managed to get around
him and take away the top spot. Lap twenty-two brought out two cautions. One was
for the 83 of Chuck Comer and the other was for the 13 of Kevin Patrick. Leslie
was still in the first position but the 10 of Justin Wells was applying pressure
from the second spot.
On lap 26 the 7A spun bringing out yet another caution. Lap 28 brought out the
final caution of the night for the 5m of Tyler Milner giving a green, white,
checkered finish. Leslie was able to hold on taking his second win of the
season. The top five followed; the 10 of Justin Wells, the 27 of Kenny
Hartwigsen, Jim Fulp in the 00, and the 55 of Ken Essary.
Come join us next Saturday at Springfield Raceway. Gates open at 4:00, with Hot
laps at 6:15 and Racing at 7:00. Pit Passes will be $30 Grandstand Admission:
$15 for adults, 6-12 $7, 5 and under Free. This will be an $800 to win, $225 to
start event with a $50 entry fee.
