O’Reilly MSRA Set For Drew
County Speedway Double Header BEEBE, AR (May 11) - After losing both events last weekend to Mother Nature the O’Reilly MSRA Super Late Model tour will return to action this Friday and Saturday, May 15th-16th at Drew County Speedway in Monticello, Arkansas with two big events. Last weekend, the O’Reilly MSRA was set for a great weekend of racing with events scheduled at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) and Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas). However, persistent rains forced the postponement of both shows. With the first five events of the 2009 season in the history book Billy Moyer Jr. from Batesville, Arkansas, continues to maintain the top spot in the O’Reilly MSRA standings and will be looking to build on his point’s advantage this Saturday. Behind the point’s leader, things are starting to heat up for the top five positions in the current tour standings. Ray Moore (Louisiana), Kyle Beard (Arkansas), Jeff Floyd (Arkansas), and Jon Kirby (Arkansas) round out the top five in the latest points, with only 48 points separating the top five spots. Thus far into the 2009 season there have been four different winners in the first five events (Kevin Sitton, Wendell Wallace, Billy Moyer Jr., and Eric Turner). Despite engine woes in the last event, which was held at West Plains Motor Speedway, the 2009 Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year standings are still being led by Gary Scott Christian from Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Austin Rettig (Missouri), Jeff Wells Jr. (Arkansas), and Michael Murphree (Arkansas) round out the current standings in the Kuntz & Co. RoY chase. This Friday and Saturday, the top five drivers in the current O’Reilly MSRA standings and the Kuntz and Company Rookie of the Year candidates will be joined by a strong contingent of competitors including Dewaine Hottinger (Arkansas), Jon Mitchell (Texas), Joey Mack (Missouri), Jeff Sloan (Missouri) Randy Mitchell (Oklahoma), Terry Henson (Arkansas), and many more. This weekend the tour will make their debut at Drew County Speedway in Monticello, Arkansas in a huge double header! Drew County Speedway is a 3/8 mile, lightning fast, oval. A $2,000 to win, $300 to start event will be on tap on Friday and Saturday night. The events will award double show up points. On Friday night the pits open at 5:30pm with grandstands opening at 6:30pm, hot laps at 7:00pm, and racing action at 8:00pm.
