FOUNTAIN CITY, WI (May 14) - Chad Simpson took the lead coming out of turn two on the opening lap, held off some late race pressure from runner-up Keith Foss and went on to capture race number two in the 2010 Dart Corn Belt Clash Racing Series here at the Mississippi Valley Thunder Speedway Friday night before a packed house. Simpson the reigning 2009 corn belt champion seem to have things well in hand throughout but there were times Foss was able to put his mount underneath Simpsons and let him know he was there "Brother Chris Simpsom enjoyed a great run coming from twelfth to finish third, hammer down Jason Rauen. Rauen winner of the spec engine nationals at Dubuque in 2009 had a strong run coming from eleventh to finish fourth, Jake Redetzke finished fifth after stating eighth. Young Justin Kay started on the pole ,was the lone IMCA entry in the grid and finished a strong sixth after being a top five car throughout, Dave Eckrich started fifteenth and finished seventh, Jake Meier started ninth and finished eighth, Marshall Fegers finished ninth after starting tenth, and Justin Mitchell finished tenth after starting twenty fourth In preliminary action the late model first heat saw Adam Hensel grab the win over Justin Fegers and Jason Rauen heat race number two saw Justin Kay lead flag to flag ahead of Marshall Fegers and Doug Herrick. Heat race number three saw Jake Redetzke win over Chad Simpson and Keith Foss. Heat race number four saw Lance Mathhees win over Chris Simpson and Jake Meier, The first b main saw Brad Waits claim the win over Dave Eckrich, Kurt kile, Kevin Kile, Nick Herrick, and Justin Saas. The second b main saw John Kaanta grab the win over Eric Pember, Jason Utter, Daren Burco, Todd Frank, and Justin Mitchell. 36 late models showed up to do battle.
