By: Tony Paris
OSKALOOSA, Ia (April 19, 2006) - Night number two was held at the Southern Iowa
Speedway on a beautiful spring evening with four classes in action. Three new
faces picked up there first wins of 2006 season with Brad Pinkerton of New
Sharon scoring his second straight win in the USRA stock car division and all
three classes battling for the Casey`s General Store USRA National Championship
Points.
The first feature of the night was the USRA hobby stock feature event with twenty-three cars taking the green with Rookie driver Danny Thrasher and Oskaloosa driver Shannon Sherwood leading the field to the green flag. Both drivers would battle for the topspot with Thrasher losing a right rear tire on lap two ending his run up front. Sherwood would take the lead on lap three before Bobby Greene of Eddyville took the lead with New Sharon driver Jared Sanders moving into second with Sherwood in third. Green would build a twenty car lenght lead over Sanders but caution would fly for Dustin Griffiths of Ottumwa losing a motor up in smoke ending his night and closing the field up for a five lap shootout with Green being to strong and took his first win of 2006 season after taking a runner-u spot last week. Todd Reitzler of Grinnell taking the second spot after starting nineth with Sherwood in third and Rick Landgrebe of Sigourney in fourth.
In the second feature of the night the USRA stock car feature took too the track for eighteen laps of exciting wheel-to-to-wheel action.
