CHASE MITRISIN TAKES FIRST EVER HOBBY STOCK WIN AT SOUTHERN
IOWA SPEEDWAY

OSKALOOSA, IA (July 26, 2006) - After over 4-1/2 inches of rain Tuesday nights
at the Southern Iowa Speedway for the 2006 Southern Iowa Fair it didn`t look
good for the Wednesday night program but track crew along with some sunshine
help to dry some of the fairgrounds at let the program go on as scheduled for
KBOE 104.9FM Kids Night at the Fair with the young race fans getting to ride
with there favorite driver along with getting money and lots of candy.
The night would kickoff with the USRA Stock Car Feature going eighteen laps with Colt Mather and Brad Pinkerton battling for the lead the first five laps befor T.J.Criss,Pat Rachels,Bobby Greiner Jr. and Matt Greiner all joined in for the battle for the first five spots with Mather leading the way but Rachels would try several time to take the lead from Mather but thel caution flag would fly with only two laps remaining. This would setup a green,white and checkered showdown with Mather leading the way. On the restart Matt Greiner woudl power past Mather who`s car didn`t restart very wll dropping him back to second and have to try to find away to get back to the front but Greiner 29 machine was to strong. This was Matt`s first ever win at the Southern Iowa Speedway. Mather took second with Criss taking third followed by Rachels in fourth.
The second feature was the Musco Lighting USRA Modifieds going eighteen laps with Steve Stewart of Washington leading the first eight laps before the red flag flew for Brad Pinkerton and Steven Blattler hitting head on into each other stopping the action on the track. On the restart Chris Spieker of Massena would take the lead and lead the final ten laps for his first win on his first visit in 2006. This was the only second night on the new car he run and made it a good one. Terry Walker took second with Oskaloosa local driver Ron VerBeek taking third and Stewart taking fourth.
In the third and final feature of the evening the USRA Hobby Stock feature
was a thriller with Bill Gibson and Chase Mitrisin and Danny Thrasher battling
for the lead and swapping the lead several diffrent times before Mitrisin would
power away and score his first ever win and doing it in front of the fair crowd
at his home track. Nathan Wood would pass Gibson on the final lap for second
with Gibson taking third and Danny Thrasher taking fourth after leading the
first three laps. Next weeks racing action wll feature the O`Reilly Auto Parts
United States Modified Touring Series in action for one of five straight nights
of racing action. The USRA stock cars and USRA hobby stocks will also be on the
card with hot laps at 7:15pm and racing action at 7:30pm.
