VERBEEK,MCDANIEL,MOFFITT AND PINKERTON TAKE PROLINE BUILDINGS
NIGHT CHECKERS

OSKALOOSA, Iowa (June 27) - The Casey`s General Stores USRA Weekly Racing
Series feature four classes with the night being sponsored by Pro-Line Buildings
of New Sharon along with the "Preacher Feature on the card. The fans got a
chance to win some cool prizes fron the Proline gang who gave away prizes along
with tee-shirts, hats and other items.
In the USRA B-Modified feature Brett Moffitt of Grimes lead all ten laps for the
win with West Des Moines driver Mike Giles taking the second spot followed by
Andrew Schroeder in the third spot and Paul Underwood in the fourth spot.
The Musco Lighting USRA A-Modified feature was won by Ron Verbeekof Oskaloosa
holding of Zack VanderBeek for the win. After the feature VerBeek thanked his
crew and all the people who help on his machine along with the Pro-Line team who
sold him a very good Skyrocket chassie. VanderBeek took the second spot followed
by Richie Gustin Jr. of Gilman in third and last weeks winner Scott Dickey
working his way from tenth to finish fourth.
In the USRA hobby stock feature Mike Shelton of Ottumwa paced the field the
first twelve laps of the fifteen lap event before Jason McDaniel of Eldon passed
Shelton on the bottom of turn four for the lead. McDaniel would take his second
straight win at Osky with Shelton taking the runner-up spot followed by Bill
Gibson of Knoxville in third and fourth going to Don Nunnikhoven of Sully who
raced his way from the back after a crash on the first lap with a flat forcing
him to the work area and to restart last but still finished fourth.
The USRA stock car feature was a good one with Bert McDaniel Jr. of Eldon
leading the field for the first fifteen laps before losing the lead to Brad
Pinkerton of New Sharon who crossed the line to take the checkers. McDaniel took
the second spot with Pat Rachels of Knoxville who lead lap number four but lost
the lead and settled for the third spot with Matt Greiner of Washington in
fourth. Pinkertons and the Pro-Line Team donated there winning to a eight year
old boy from New Sharon who`s battling cancer.
The preacher feature was a thriller with side-by0side action with Brent Myer
taking the win from Phillip Westra who lost the lead on the final lap to Myer
who made it two win in a row driving the Joe and Sharon Ferguson owned stock car
for the First Church of the Nazerene of Oskaloosa taking the first one and the
second straight preacher feature at the Southern Iowa Speedway.
