QUINCY RACEWAYS LOSES FIRST NIGHT TO MOTHER
NATURE
By Jack Walbring
Quincy, Il (April 3, 2006) - A severe thunderstorm put the final nail in the
opening night of the 2006 race season at Quincy Raceways Sunday night. The pit
gates were open and the mud had been worked down enough to get the cars and
haulers into the pits as the storm let loose with high winds, hail and rain to
send everyone home for the night.
The IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series for Late Models is up next on Sunday, April 9.
The $2000 to win $250 to start event will highlight the delayed opening night action. Joining the IMCA Late Models will be the sanctioned IMCA Modifieds, Bombers and the 4 Cylinder Hornets.
Gates open at 4 with Hot Laps at 5:45 and racing at 6:30pm. Call
the Hotline at 217-224-4100 or the track office at 217-224-3843 or visit Quincy
