Quincy Raceways Announces Schedule Changes
By Jack Walbring
QUINCY, ILL (Aug 29, 2006) - Quincy Raceways was forced to cancel the final
points night of racing action for the Budweiser IMCA Late Models on Sunday,
August 27 after over an inch of rain and the lack of good drying conditions made
the track unworkable.
The IMCA Late Models will now compete in their Season Championship Night on
Sunday, September 10 with no points being awarded. The Miller Lite IMCA
Modifieds will compete in their final points night during their Season
Championship Night on Sunday, Septemeber 3 along with the Deery Brothers Summer
Series event scheduled for that night. Points will end that evening for the
modifieds as the IMCA Super Nationals are on tap for the next week in Boone,
Ia,, as no points are awarded to any IMCA division during that week. The Summy
Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash Finale and the P&S Auto and Truck Collision
Repair Trophy Dash Finale have both been rescheduled for September 10 as well.
The TNT Harley Hog Night at the races will now also be on the final night of
racing action for the 2006 season at Quincy Raceways on Sunday, September 10,
which is Season Championship Night for the IMCA Late Models, Bombers and
Hornets.
Mark Burgtorf laid claim to his thirteenth Track Points Championship in the last
fifteen years in the Budweiser IMCA Late Model division a few weeks ago. Denny
Woodworth and Jerry Weisenberger followed Burgtorf in the final tally in second
and third which are the best finishes for both drivers.
