Quincy Raceways Adds Event to Deery Brothers Summer Series

QUINCY, ILL (Aug. 31, 2006) - The Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash Finale
has been added to the schedule of events for Sunday, September 3 at Quincy
Raceways. The twenty lap event features the top eight drivers in trophy dash
points in two ten lap segments divided by a five minute pit stop opportunity at
the midway point. Mark Burgtorf, Denny Woodworth, Boone McLaughlin, Tom
Darbyshire, Lonnie Bailey, Joey Gower, Jerry Weisenberger and Brian Kenning will
be the drivers competing in the draw for starting position event. A purse of
$1500 has been posted by Jeff Carter of Summy Tire and Auto Center with the
winner taking home a check for $500.
The Deery Brothers Summer Series for the IMCA Late Models will be the featured
event of the evening with drivers battling it out in a $2000 to win $250 to
start fifty lap main event. Jeff Aikey leads Rob Toland by eleven points with
four events left on the tour. Toland took the victory in the last stop at Quincy
in April of this year.
The Miller Lite IMCA Modifieds will also be competing in their Season
Championship event as well with Robbie Reed holding a slim 644 to 636 point
advantage over multi time track champion Henry DeLonjay. The Quincy Raceways
Bombers and Hornets will also be competing in their next to last points event as
well. Steve Carlin leads Adam Birck by eleven markers in the Bomber points with
Steven DeLonjay leading James Leffew by 4 points in the Hornets.
The gates open at 4 with hot laps at 6 and racing scheduled to start at 6:30p.
