Pratt Scores Again in Quincy Raceways IMCA Late Models
By Jack Walbring
QUINCY, ILL (June 10) - Keith Pratt, Ryan Meyer, Bobby Anders and Levi Long took
the regularly scheduled feature event wins while Michael Long and Sara Woodhurst
captured the rained out main events from June 3rd at Quincy Raceways on Sunday,
June 10th.
Jerry Weisenberger held of several challengers for the top spot of the Budweiser
IMCA Late Model feature event until late in the race until Keith Pratt powered
by to take the win, his second of the season after returning to IMCA Late Model
racing at Quincy. Pratt outdistanced Weisenberger for the win by 1.229 seconds.
Weisenberger settled for the second spot followed by Terry Schlipman in third,
Mark Burgtorf in fourth and Denny Woodworth in fifth. Woodworth, Schlipman and
Sam Halstead were the heat race winners while Woodworth claimed the win in the
Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash.
The Miller Lite Modifieds had two schedule feature events as they had the main
event from last week rained out before completion. Long took the win after
holding off the persistent challenges of David Wietholder and Henry DeLonjay.
Wietholder held on for second followed by DeLonjay in third, Robbie Reed in
fourth and Tony Dunker in fifth. The regular scheduled feature event was a slam
bam affair as the caution flag flew enough to time limit the event to thirteen
circuits. Ryan Meyer took the win after Joe Bliven was eliminated from
contention from a flat tire in a lap eleven accident. Meyer held on for the last
two circuits keeping Robbie Reed at bay in the second spot. Brandon Lennox
scored third followed by Tony Dunker and Henry DeLonjay. Dunker, DeLonjay and
Long were the heat race winners while Lennox took the win in the Advance Trading
Tony Dunker Trophy Dash.
Sara Woodhurst dominated the Hobby Stock makeup feature event by leading every
lap of the twenty lap main event. Woodhurst was challenged by Travis Booher over
the last half of the event but was able to win her first ever Hobby Stock
Feature after moving up from the Hornets for this season. Booher settled for
second with Travis Kelle in third, Aaron Brocksieck in fourth and Todd Reichert
in fifth. Bobby Anders grabbed the lead away from Travis Kelle on the second lap
of the regular Hobby Stock Feature event and proceeded to maintain his lead
throughout the time limited event as only sixteen of the scheduled twenty laps
were completed. Anders also grabbed his first ever feature event win as he
topped Todd Reichert in second, Woodhurst in third, Cory Eifert in fourth and
Booher in fifth. Reichert, Kelle and Eifert were the heat race winners.
Levi Long took his class leading third feature event win of the season in the
Hornet division. Long won over Lew Aikman in second, Joe Gollaher in third,
Steven DeLonjay in fourth and Cody Griggs in fifth.
