Sprint Invaders Ready for Speedweeks with Memphis Stop

BURLINGTON, IA (June 18, 2006) – The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders will make their first County Fair stop of 2006 as the 360 Winged Warriors headline Memphis, Missouri’s Scotland County Fair on Tuesday, June 20th.


After the series’ inaugural visit to the Quincy Raceways ¼-mile, Matt Sutton reassumed command of the series standings. The Macomb, Ill. driver will carry a
14-point advantage into Memphis over Korey Weyant of Springfield, Ill. Five different drivers have shared victory lane in the first five series events, including Sutton (Lee County Speedway), Matt Rogerson (34 Raceway), Jerrod Hull (Lincoln), Rager Phillips (Lee County Speedway), and Ricky Logan (Quincy).

The Memphis trip will mark the sixth visit in series history to the 3/8-mile oval. Jacksonville, Ill. veteran Bobby Hawks and all-time series win leader Jerrod Hull earned victories last season. Other drivers earning Memphis checkers include Terry McCarl in the 2003 event, inaugural series champion Tyson Hart in September of 2002, and John Schulz in July of 2002.
