Snyder to Run Full NCRA Sprint Schedule
Randy Fisher - Media Relations Director
PARK CITY, Kan. (April 13, 2007) – Another former rookie of the year has
announced he will return to the series and run for the 2007 championship in the
O’Reilly NCRA Sprint Car Series, presented by ICM/Ethanol.
After winning the 2004 Rookie of the Year award, Stu Snyder hasn’t had the money
to follow a series the last couple of years. The Lincoln, Neb., driver stayed
close to home, running mostly at nearby Eagle Raceway. That’s where he met the
folks who own the racecar he’ll be driving this season.
“I had parked my car late in the season when Shirley (Beers) and Don (Williams)
called and wanted me to drive for them a couple of times at the end of the
year,” Snyder said of how he met the owners of 2D Motorsports.
Despite crashing the racecar at South Coffeyville, Okla., Beers and Williams
were agreeable to Stu racing for them again this season. They asked if Snyder,
20, wanted to run all year with the NCRA and he emphatically told them, ‘oh,
yeah, definitely.’
“We’re going to run the full season and hopefully come out with a championship,
but I don’t know because Garry Lee Maier is pretty tough,” Snyder said. “If
nothing else, running second to that guy would be just like winning to me.”
Primary sponsors are Snyder Industries of Lincoln and 2D Motorsports from Kansas
City, Mo. He also has Source One Powdercoating in Lincoln and Whittrock
Sandblasting of Waverly, Neb., on board. Snyder will drive a Maxim Chassis,
powered by a John Singer motor.
Beers has sponsored racecars since 1990, including Kim Kennedy in the NCRA
Outlaw Sprint Series. She met Williams during that time as he crewed for Kennedy
in 1997. Together, they have sponsored/owned racecars for several years.
Williams has been a car owner for 50 years, starting with a super modified.
“We like the NCRA so we decided to run with them again this year,” Beers said.
“Everyone associated with the series is really great.”
Oklahoma City’s Andy Shouse, the 2002 NCRA Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year,
had previously announced he is returning to the series and will run for the
championship this year.
