Maier Completes Tri-Fecta with ASCS Rocky Mountain Score at WaKeeney

WaKEENEY, Kan. (May 27, 2007) – Garry Lee Maier put the finishing touches on a perfect weekend by charging to victory lane in Sunday night's 25-lap American Sprint Car Series Rocky Mountain Region feature at WaKeeney Speedway.

The triumph marked Maier's third win of the weekend aboard the Wesmar-powered Lubbock Wrecker Service No. 11x Eagle after scoring an ASCS Midwest Region win at McCool Junction on Friday night and then an ASCS Rocky Mountain Region score at North Platte, NE, on Saturday night.

This time, Maier started outside the front row in the feature event and gunned into the lead at the outset. He was never headed, chased to the stripe by Stu Snyder for the second night in a row.

Mike Chadd claimed show honors, with Jon Freeman and Mike Peters rounding out the top five. C.J. Johnson charged from 17th to snare sixth, with Patrick Bourke, Nick Haygood, Jason Danley and Keith Rauch completing the top ten.

J.D. Johnson and Derek Drown tangled while battling for the third position in the final rounds, just one lap after Don Droud, Jr., suffered a blown engine.

Snyder, Maier, Freeman and Danley topped heat race action for Sunday night's 30-car field with C.J. Johnson winning the "B" Main.
