John Hall finishes Knoxville racing season
by: Stacy ErvinMARION, IA (August 30) - John Hall and his Left Turn
Enterprises racing team finished out the Knoxville Championship Cup Series
season at the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, August 30.
The night started off fairly well, with Hall showing competitive lap times
during the warm-up session that saw him 13th of the 32 competitors in the
night's 360 division. A draw for starting spot in his heat race put him
fourth in the seven-lap event. After slipping back a few spots early on,
Hall made a late-race pass to finish in fifth.
He started the night's B-Main from the fifth spot and maintained that
position for the opening laps. However, series point leader Matt Moro was on
a mission in this race to gain a transfer spot that would eventually lead
him to the 2008 track championship. After he made the pass on the fifth of
the 10 laps in the race, Hall called his night done and pulled back to his
pits, credited with a 15th-place finish.
The team plans to finish off the season by competing in two Sprint Invaders
Association shows during September. Quad City Raceway in East Moline,
Illinois, will be on the agenda for Saturday, September 20, and 34 Raceway
in West Burlington, Iowa, will finish off the year on Saturday, September
27.
The race car is owned by Charles and Doris Hall. Crew members are Darrell
Bonesteel, Cole Page, Cass Page and Steve Lindell. Regular sponsors include
Maxim Racing, Parker Engines, APC Emmert Metal Fabricators, Super Shox,
Chalk Stix Torsion Bars, Marion Dairy Queen, Brake Man Brake Systems,
Thompson Aero Service and Seal-It International.
The team is actively seeking additional funding to help with its racing
effort. Potential sponsors or racing fans who just want to help out a
