John Hall Racing narrowly misses the main

MARION, IOWA (June 20, 2009) - John Hall and his Left Turn Enterprises racing team had an up and down kind of night but still came away with lots to build on as the season heats up. The team competed with the Knoxville Championship Cup Series at the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, June 20, in the 360 division.

To start off the night, Hall found his luck at the draw window had run out, pulling the penultimate number. However, his hot-lap times continued to show that the team is working in the right direction, as he turned laps good enough for 14^th out of the 35 competitors on this night.

Hall started in the back of his heat race, but showed he remains competitive by coming from ninth to sixth, amassing valuable passing points.

Starting fourth in the 19-car B-Main, Hall was a big part of the show in the night's most exciting race. The top five drivers raced each other hard throughout the 10-lap event, with Hall racing side-by-side with defending track champion Matt Moro for second most of the way. As the top runners rounded the final corner, however, it was three wide for the win. With lapped cars also in the mix and little room left to race, Hall got shuffled back to fifth, missing the transfer to the night's main event by about a one-second margin.

Though it was a slight disappointment, it does give the crew more information to build on for the next round of Knoxville Championship Cup Series action on Saturday, June 27, at Knoxville Raceway.

The car is owned by Charles and Doris Hall. Crew members are Darrell Bonesteel, Steve Lindell, Cass Page and Cole Page. Regular sponsors include Maxim Racing, Parker Engines, APC Emmert Metal Fabricators, Marion Dairy Queen, Seal-It International, Thompson Aero Service and Chalk Stix Torsion Bars.

The team continues to actively seek funding for its 2009 efforts. New sponsorship at all levels is welcome for the season, partial season or even a one-race opportunity. Work will continue on new marketing ideas and further development of the team’s newly revamped website at www.johnhallracing.com   this year.
