Valley and Central Missouri Speedways First
Tracks to Adopt ULMA Rules Package!!!
By Sam Stoecklin
Warrensburg, MO (Jan. 21, 2007) - The United Late Model Association (ULMA),
fresh off the heels of its most recent meeting, received some exciting
information from two of the Midwest’s most well-known and respected racing
facilities! Grain Valley Speedway, Grain Valley, MO, and Central Missouri
Speedway (CMS), Warrensburg, MO, both adopted the ULMA rules package and have
become the first two tracks to be affiliated with ULMA! ULMA is excited about
this new partnership and looks forward to working with Earl and Susan Walls,
promoters of CMS, as well as Mark and Debbie Evinger, promoters of Valley
Speedway. Special event race details for ULMA at both tracks are being
finalized.
In other news, the association finalized the point disbursement plan that will
be used to determine the inaugural ULMA champion for 2007. Ongoing plans for
special event purse payouts are still being discussed at this time; however, the
association has decided it will invert the top 6 starters for their special
event feature races. This method will be utilized by the association only at
ULMA-ran special events; associated tracks will use their own line-up methods on
a weekly basis for their late model race programs. The association is currently
lining up additional track and special-event affiliation and will make
announcements as soon as details are finalized.
ULMA representatives will be on hand to accept new member applications and
answer questions about the association at the January 27th and 28th, 2007
“Bodee's Racers’ Auction and Trade Show.” This event will take place at the
Missouri State Fairgrounds’ Mathewson Center at 2503 West 16th Street, Sedalia,
Missouri. Members who have already paid their 2007 dues are encouraged to send a
picture of their car to the association’s e-mail address to be uploaded to the
association’s Website.
ULMA’s next meeting will take place on February 10, 2007 at 1 p.m. in Sedalia,
MO, at the Ramada Inn Restaurant/Lounge located at 3501 West 50 Hwy, near
Wal-Mart. Personnel wishing to join the association’s news release information
group should send requests to
unitedlatemodelassociation@hotmail.com . ULMA encourages everyone to visit
its Website at www.ulmaracing.com for
the latest news and information. The association may also be reached through its
