O’REILLY USMTS PRE-ENTRIES TOP 100 FOR 9TH ANNUAL FEATHERLITE
FALL JAMBOREE
SPRING VALLEY, Minn. (Aug. 13) — The mega-list of early entries for the 9th
Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree has grown to more than 100, with the who’s who
of Modified racing from the United States and Canada already pre-registered for
the unprecedented Sept. 5-8 event at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley,
Minn.
The stellar field of superstars already registered come from 11 different States
— Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska,
Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wisconsin — and the province of Ontario, Canada.
“It’s mind boggling how popular this event has become,” said Todd Staley, USMTS
President. “Dozens of drivers took advantage of our low pre-entry rate this
year, and we’ve had numerous calls from more drivers who are coming. The
Featherlite Fall Jamboree has certainly become the marquee event for America’s
most talented Modified drivers, and this is the venue where they get to match
their skills against the best of the best.”
Along with the O’Reilly USMTS Modifieds, the four-day event will also feature
WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds. Combined, the two classes will compete for a total
purse of nearly $200,000.
Three complete shows are on tap for Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the
high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval in the rural hills outside of Spring Valley,
Minn.
Early bird race fans can get a free preview of the action, and drivers will get
their chance to make final adjustments to their machines on Wednesday, Sept. 5,
with an open practice night for all drivers in all classes. Pits and grandstands
open at 4 p.m., with open-track practice from 6 to 9 p.m. sharp. Admission to
the grandstands is free. Pit passes are just $15.
The real deal happens on Thursday, Sept. 6. A field of 26 cars will start the
O’Reilly USMTS main event, which carries a $2,000 top prize and pays a minimum
of $250 to start — a hefty top prize, indeed, but that’s only opening day at The
Jamboree!
Friday’s menu will kick off with the annual Jamboree Golf Tournament, followed
by a second night of screaming on-track action. The O’Reilly USMTS Modifieds
will again have a 26-car feature field, with the winner’s share of the purse
doubled to $4,000 with a minimum of $300 going to each driver making the main
event. WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds will also be on the card as they race for $500
to win and $50 to start. Fans, drivers, crews and families will put a lid on
Friday’s festivities with the annual Karaoke Night … open to everybody.
On both Friday and Saturday, brunch will be served by the Bear Creek Church
Men’s Club in the hospitality area from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All meals will be
served as a free will donation, with all proceeds benefiting the Bear Creek
Men’s Club. Open to all … you don’t want to miss this great home-cooked
opportunity!
Saturday’s super-sensational enormous explosive finale will feature the hottest
Modified pilots in the nation battling for a spot in the 9th Annual Featherlite
Fall Jamboree main event for the O’Reilly USMTS Modifieds. A field of 30 cars
will start the main event three-wide and 10 rows deep as drivers battle for a
$6,000 top prize. All drivers that make the big dance will earn at least $600.
And if that wasn’t enough, non-qualifiers will have a chance at one of the 24
spots in the Non-Qualifier "A" Main, which carries a $2,000 top prize and pays
$200 to start — that’s more than most Modified races pay to win their “big one.”
In addition, WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds will duel for $500 to win and $50 to
start their main event.
Last, but certainly not least … this year’s Featherlite Fall Jamboree will be
the final National Event for O’Reilly USMTS and will award points in the ‘The
Hunt’ for the O’Reilly USMTS National Championship. Not only will we produce a
ninth Featherlite Fall Jamboree winner, but we will also crown the ninth
O’Reilly USMTS national champion after Saturday night’s finale.
Tickets are available online at
www.deercreekspeedway.com or by calling the Deer Creek ticket office
at 1-877-DCS-RACE during normal business hours. Tickets can also be bought
during events at the Deer Creek Speedway ticket window. Only the three-day
weekend pass will be sold as reserved tickets, individual nights can be bought
in advance but are general admission only. Pre-sale three-day reserved tickets
must be bought by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
Spots are still open at the world famous Deer Creek Campground, located next to
the race track. Call for more information.
