TRIPLEHEADER WEEKEND TO OPEN O’REILLY USMTS NATIONAL TOUR CAMPAIGN

OSBORN, Mo. (March 6) — With the postponement of this weekend's 5th Annual Nebraska Spring Thaw, the rugged road warriors of the O’Reilly USMTS National Tour now set their sights on a big three-race weekend to kick off an exciting 2008 campaign for America's Hottest Ticket on Dirt.

FRIDAY, MARCH 14 - U.S. RACEWAY, OSBORN, MO

The first race of the season will be at a track where the O’Reilly USMTS National Tour will be visiting for the first time ever as the Mod Masters invade the U.S. 36 Raceway in Osborn, Mo., on Friday, March 14. Although it's the first time, it won't be the last as the series returns to the high-banked 1/3-mile oval on Friday, June 20, and again during the Casey's General Stores Hunt for the USMTS National Championship on Tuesday, Aug. 12.

The U.S. 36 Raceway is located 50 miles northeast of Kansas City on I-35 to Exit 54, then 6.3 miles west on US 36, then 0.1 mile north on SR 33 (ESR). For more information, visit www.us36raceway.com or call the track at (816) 675-2279. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and grandstands open at 4. Hot laps are at 6:30 with the first heat race at 7.

Race fans can pick up discount coupons for $2 off at both Casey's General Stores locations in Cameron and at the 2423 N. Woodbine Rd. location in St. Joseph on race day. O’Reilly USMTS National Tour standout Al Hejna and his Casey's-sponsored machine will make an appearance at the Casey's location at 405 Grand Ave. in Cameron from 1-3 p.m. on Friday.

This inaugural event will be the first race in both the Great Plains Region and Central States Region. Friday's main event winner will pocket $2,000 and each of the 24 starters will earn at least $200.

SATURDAY, MARCH 15 - HUMBOLDT SPEEDWAY, HUMBOLDT, KS

The Humboldt (Kan.) Speedway will host the “3rd Annual Havoc at The Hummer” on Saturday, March 15. Defending USMTS National Champion Jason Krohn is the defending race winner at Ron and Rhenda Whitworth's speedy 1/4-mile oval, and will be looking to repeat in the first race of the Mo-Kan Region and pick up the $2,000 top prize.

The Humboldt Speedway is located 0.1 mile west of US 169 at the Humboldt Exit, then 0.5 mile south, then 0.9 mile east. For more information, visit www.humboldtspeedway.com or call the office at (620) 431-2470 or the track at (620) 473-3694. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and grandstands open at 4. Hot laps are at 5:30 with the first heat race at 6.

Race fans can pick up $2-off discount coupons at Casey's General Stores locations in Iola and Chanute on race day. Hejna and his Casey's General Stores #7 Harris Chassis will again make a pre-race appearance at the Casey's location at 712 E. Madison Ave. in Iola from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday.

SUNDAY, MARCH 16 - THUNDERHILL SPEEDWAY, MAYETTA, KS

The tripleheader race weekend will wrap up on Sunday, March 16, at the Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kan., for the “6th Annual Kansas Spring Fling.” Greg Skaggs of Bixby, Okla., captured the first of his three O’Reilly USMTS National Tour wins last season at Mayetta,
and he'll be one of the favorites again this year when the intimidating field of peerless mud-slingers return to the lightning-fast 4/10-mile high-banked clay oval near the northern border of the Sunflower State.

The Thunderhill Speedway is located 14.6 miles north of US 24 on US 75 to 142nd St., then 2.2 miles west. For more information, visit www.thunderhillmayetta.com or call the office at (785) 966-2575 or the track at (785) 966-2844. Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and grandstands open at 3. Hot laps are at 4:30 with the first heat race at 5.

Race fans can pick up $2-off discount coupons on race day at Casey's General Stores locations in Silver Lake, Holton and the 600 SE Rice Rd. store in Topeka. Hejna will make his third appearance of the weekend on Sunday from 12-2 p.m. at the Topeka location just off of I-470.

The 6th Annual Kansas Spring Fling will be the second race in both the Mo-Kan Region and Great Plains Region. Sunday's main event winner will pocket $2,000 and each of the other 23 starters in the Holley “A” Main will earn at least $200.
