NOBLE TURNING PINK WITH A PURPOSE

BLOOMING PRAIRIE, Minn. (April 30) – For five nights this season, Mark Noble will be racing a very special Breast Cancer 3 Day graphics scheme as he competes with the mud-slinging Modifieds of the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour.

“Modifieds are my passion, and to me, there just isn’t anything better,” said Chris Brown, who grew up watching and cheering on Mark Noble throughout his racing career. “Having seen several pink cars on the track in NASCAR, I decided to pursue bringing that idea to a more local level.”

Noble, who turns 53 on July 3, is one of the best-known and most-liked drivers ever to race on dirt in America’s heartland. With more than 600 main event wins in a racing career that spans more than 35 years, the second-generation racer is also one of the winningest.

In December, Brown approached Noble about turning his car pink and selling T-shirts featuring the car as a fundraiser for Brown’s Breast Cancer 3 Day team.

The Breast Cancer 3 Day is a 60-mile walk and one of the boldest statements a person can make in the fight against breast cancer. Last year, Chris’s team of six raised almost $24,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure to benefit breast cancer awareness and research. This year the team is back with 14 members strong and have set a goal of raising more than $50,000 for their cause.

Chris is a 30-year old rabid race fan who lost his girlfriend, Jolene, to breast cancer. She was just 27 when it first appeared and before it was all over she had fought it twice.

“I introduced Jolene to the world of racing and this car is a bold statement to say ‘I am still fighting,’” said Chris. “This car is dedicated to Jolene and to all women in hopes that those who have encountered breast cancer can survive, and those who haven’t never will.

“This car is about our past, present, and future. With the help of many, this project has grown bigger than I ever thought it would and will continue on into the future.”

Noble will be piloting the pink ‘War Machine’ from May 22 to May 25 in competition with the USMTS Casey's General Stores National Tour. Noble will make his final appearance with the unique paint scheme on Tuesday, June 2, when the USMTS road warriors visit the Hancock County Speedway in Britt, Iowa.

“Tour for a Cure” schedule of events:

Friday, May 22 … Chateau Raceway, Lansing, MN
Saturday, May 23 … Deer Creek Speedway, Spring Valley, MN
Sunday, May 24 … Dodge County Speedway, Kasson, MN
Monday, May 25 … Mississippi Thunder Speedway, Fountain City, WI
Tuesday, June 2 … Hancock County Speedway, Britt, IA

Race fans can help Chris’s cause and join in the fight to wipe out breast cancer by purchasing a special, limited edition Mark Noble T-shirt, can koozie, pink ribbon or by making a free will donation to their team. All proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
