SPRING VALLEY, Minn. (Sept. 4) – Ruter Farms, located in Kanawha, Iowa, has stepped up to sponsor the Ruter Farms Long Distance Award for this year's 11th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree, slated for Wednesday through Saturday, Sept. 23-26, at the Deer Creek Speedway. The Ruter Farms Long Distance Award is aimed to help attract even more of America's most talented dirt Modified drivers from coast to coast by adding some relief at the gas pump for the teams that will burn the bulk of our glorious fossil fuel en route to (and home from) the popular high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval near Spring Valley, Minn. Following Saturday night's Featherlite Fall Jamboree finale, a cash award of $200 will be doled out to each of the 10 drivers who competed all three nights and traveled the most miles to get there — that's a $2,000 bonus on top of the already lucrative combined total purse of nearly $200,000! The Featherlite Fall Jamboree is the undisputed marquee event for America’s “who's who” of dirt Modified racing as they converge on the Deer Creek Speedway near the tiny rural town of Spring Valley, Minn., for a possible $12,000 to win over three big days. Three complete shows are on tap each night, with an open practice session on Wednesday to kick off the festivities. Special events include the annual Golf Scramble, Karaoke Night and dozens of other activities and special awards. Along with the high-powered USMTS Modifieds, the 11th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree will also feature WISSOTA Midwest Mods. USMTS officials will be accepting entries at the "early bird" rate of $200 at all of this week's USMTS races through Sunday, Sept. 6. The deadline for postmarked entries was Tuesday, Sept. 1, but as long as they arrive in the USMTS office by Monday, Sept. 7 — by mail, fax, phone or in person — the $200 price holds. After Monday, early entry is $250 if postmarked by Sept. 21, and after that it's $300 either by pre-entry or at the gate. The entry fee covers all three nights of racing. Drivers will only have to buy pit passes each night. All prize money, including tow, will be paid out each night. Any driver wishing to enter and compete on a per-night basis may do so. Early entry for Thursday only will be $75 for licensed USMTS drivers, $85 for non-licensed and $100 for all drivers at the gate. Friday is $100 licensed, $110 non-licensed and $125 at the gate. Saturday is $140 licensed, $150 non-licensed and $175 at the gate. Single-day entries must be postmarked by Sept. 10 or pay at-the-gate rate. Entry forms are available on the USMTS website at www.usmts.com. All USMTS rules apply. Tires allowed are the American Racer KK704 or IMCA-stamped Hoosier G60. The top-18 in heat race passing points each night are locked into the “A” Main with the top-12 redrawing for starting spots. Ten drivers advance from the “B” Mains, with two USMTS provisionals added to make a 30-car starting field. Saturday’s “A” Main will start three wide. The top-28 in Saturday’s “B” Mains not advancing to the “A” Main advance to the $2,000-to-win Non-Qualifiers Race (redraw for starting spot, must have raced all three nights to be eligible). This event will award points each night for licensed drivers in the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Championship. There is no Top Dog Bonus at this event. WISSOTA Midwest Mod drivers may enter for FREE if they pre-enter by September 10. Any entry postmarked after September 10 or at the gate on raceday will be $50. WISSOTA national points will be awarded all three nights. A draw/redraw format with passing points will be used to determine starting spots. All WISSOTA rules apply. The top-16 in heat race passing points are locked into the “A” Main with the top-8 redrawing for starting spots each night. Eight drivers advance from the “B” Mains to make a 24-car starting field.
