Hadacek pockets $1,000 with Hobby Stock victory at Pritchard Family Auto Stores Hancock County Speedway

BRITT, IA (July 28, 2006) - There’s nothing better than great entertainment at a low cost. Friday night at the Pritchard Family Auto Stores Hancock County Speedway that’s exactly what Fan Appreciation Night presented by Sidetrack Lanes offered with action for the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series.

The night got underway with the USRA Modified feature. There was a new man in town for the event as Ryan York of Racine, Minn., made the trip in his red #1r. After starting on the pole, York was hard to catch. He met up with a short battle with Brad Bakken, but York had too much for the track points leader. York took the checkered flag as Bakken crossed the finish line second, followed by Ed Green.

Both the Junior and Senior Hornets raced together. After Colby fett spun between turns 3-4 and had to leave the race track, that left three Senior Hornets to do battle. Brandon Ostwald of Algona continued his domination and crossed the finish line first.

Nineteen out of the 20 registered USRA B-Modifieds made their way onto the track after the Hobby Stock B-feature. The “Fast Five” of Jake Simpson jumped out to a quick lead. The defending track champion seemed to create a comfortable lead until the #21L of Matt Lettow gave him a challenge. The two drivers raced side-by-side until Lettow was able to get an edge over Simpson. After a spin by the #3f of Jeramie Faber, Lettow got a good jump on the field of cars on the restart and was able to take the victory.

As usual, the USRA Stock Cars were roaring and ready to go at the Britt speedplant. The 17-car feature began with a bang as Tom Schmitt took advantage of his front row starting position. The #18 led the group of racers through two cautions. On the restart, the #42 of Jeff Nielsen and the #27t of Tory Reicks gave Schmitt all he could handle. With some good handling in the corners and a nice groove to follow, the driver from Independence found himself in victory lane. This was Schmitt’s fourth win this season at Pritchard Family Auto Stores Hancock County Speedway.

The nightcap consisted of the $1,000-to-win USRA Hobby Stock feature. Twenty-seven cars made the trip to qualify for the 24-car feature. After four heat races and a B-feature, the field was set. Chad Lundy paced the field from the start. Meanwhile, the #5 of Randy Hadacek was moving through the traffic thanks to some nifty driving and five cautions. After the #2h of Dan Haugland gave Lundy a short battle, Hadacek was up to second. The #11L of Lundy gave it all he had, but the luck of Hadacek continued. Hadacek has been a familiar face in victory lane as this was his third feature win in just eight days.

“I expected good competition tonight,” commented Hadacek, who got just that. “This is the best I have ever done.”
