Stock Cars,
B-Mods take on I-35 Speedway Saturday in USRA Iron Man Challenge opener
WINSTON, Mo. (March 30) -- On Saturday, April 2, the Iron Man Challenge for
USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars and USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods will
kick off the season at the I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo., racing in
conjunction with the USMTS Modifieds on the same night for one huge event.
Stock Cars will be racing for $700 to win and $125 to start while B-Mods
will battle for $500 to win and $80 to start the main event. Tow money for
non-qualifiers will be $75 and $50, respectively.
I-35 Speedway owners Mike and Kyle Johnson have taken advantage of some nice
weather and completed some improvements at the facility, including fresh
concrete in the grandstand area and countless hours of track preparation.
Pit gates open 4:30 p.m., grandstands open at 5, hot laps start at 6:30 and
the green flag flies at 7 p.m. An open practice at the track for all classes
is scheduled for Thursday, March 31, with gates opening at 4 p.m.
The I-35 Speedway is located 10 miles north of Cameron on SR 6 (exit 64).

On the heels of a successful debut season that saw 130 Stock Car drivers
take part in the newly-formed tour with nine different drivers visiting
victory lane in thirteen events, series announced earlier this year that the
ultra-competitive B-Mod division will also be a part of the Iron Man
Challenge.
Nineteen dates at eleven dirt ovals comprise the 2011 schedule for the
second season of the Iron Man Challenge. Points for both classes will be
awarded based on a driver’s best 10 points races.
For the Stock Cars, each event will pay a minimum of $500 to win and four
races are penciled in with a top prize of at least $1,000 to win. All events
will pay a minimum $125 to start the main event, and the points fund will
carry a $2,000 top prize with the tenth-place finisher earning $200.
For the B-Mods, each event will pay a minimum $500 to win and all shows will
pay at least $100 to start the feature. The points champion will earn $700
with tenth-place taking home $100.
Licensed USRA drivers in both classes will also earn national points in the
USRA Weekly Racing Series. To earn points and be eligible for points funds,
drivers must possess a valid USRA Competitor License, utilize the American
Racer KK704 racing tire on all four wheels and compete in at least 10
events.
