Popular series stop to precede annual Pump and Pantry Late Model Nationals

WORLD Dirt Racing League
Gilman City, Mo. (June 1, 2006) -- The popular WORLD Dirt Racing League PolyDome
Late Model Series stop at Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa, which was
postponed last week because of wet grounds, has been rescheduled.
The event will be held on Thursday night, July 20, and will precede the two-day
Pump and Pantry Late Model Nationals at Mid-Nebraska Speedway in Doniphan, Neb.,
on July 21 and 22 and the series' first-ever appearance at Boone County Speedway
in Albion, Neb., on July 23.
"We are pleased that Adams County Speedway has to decided to reschedule right
before our three nights of racing in central Nebraska," commented series founder
and president Jim Wilson. "With the addition of the show in Corning, drivers
will now have four consecutive nights of racing, all within a reasonable driving
distance."
Added Wilson, "The Pump and Pantry Late Model Nationals in Doniphan has grown to
the point where it is attracting a very good field of race cars, and I would
think that adding this show right before it will help not only Mid-Nebraska
Speedway but also Corning and Boone County Speedway."
The Adams County Speedway event, being held on the final night of the annual
Adams County Fair, will pay $5,000 to the winner. The opening night of the Pump
and Pantry Late Model Nationals offers $2,500 to the feature race winner, with
Saturday night's Nationals main event paying $5,000 to the winner. Sunday's
winner at Boone County Speedway also will take home a $5,000 paycheck.
