POLYDOME LATE MODEL SERIES RACE AT BUREAU COUNTY SPEEDWAY IS
CANCELLED
Rained out WDRL race will not be rescheduled
GILMAN CITY, MO. (Sept. 6, 2006) - The WORLD Dirt Racing League and Bill
Williams of Bureau County Speedway in Princeton, Ill., have mutually agreed to
cancel the WDRL race that was rained out at the track on Sunday, Sept. 3.
Earlier, the race had tentatively been rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 5, to lead
into WORLD Dirt Racing League's annual Al Frieden Memorial Race on Friday, Oct.
6, followed by the West Liberty 50 on Saturday, Oct. 7, both at West Liberty
(Iowa) Raceway.
"Bill told me that they could not get the fairgrounds any date in October due to
the fairgrounds longstanding tradition of hosting Halloween festivities during
October, and we are unable to return in September," explains WDRL president Jim
Wilson.
WDRL has asked the speedway to honor all pit passes that were sold on Sept. 3 at
a race to be held later in September. Says Wilson: "We understand that if
drivers are unable to return for any Late Model race the track may have yet in
2006, they can mail their pit passes to the Bureau County Speedway along with a
self-addressed, stamped envelope for a full refund."
Fans who had purchased grandstand tickets can contact the Bureau County Speedway
to discuss the speedway's policy concerning grandstand tickets that were sold on
Sept. 3.
