WORLD DIRT RACING LEAGUE OPENER POSTPONED TO WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16 It's too wet for the planned April 11 Rudy's Tacos Fiesta 40 at Davenport (Iowa) Speedway By Phil Roberts WORLD Dirt Racing League DAVENPORT, IA (April 10) -- Gentlemen, start your engines -- but not just yet. Several days of rain and the prediction of another storm moving in to eastern Iowa have forced the postponement of the WORLD Dirt Racing League opener that had been set for Friday night, April 11, here at Davenport Speedway. The race on the half-mile dirt oval located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, 2815 W. Locust St., is being rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night, April 16. DRT TRAK Racing Inc. is promoting this year's WDRL opener, which is sponsored by Rudy's Tacos. The highlight of the night will be the Fiesta 40 for the WDRL Late Models. But there will also be a full Late Model racing program, including qualifying races. DRT TRAK's Pro Mods and Street Stocks also are on the racing agenda for April 16.
