WDRL TO SANCTION THE REBEL 100 IN FREEPORT The 13th annual race is set for Sept. 5 and 6 at the northern Illinois facility By Bucky Doren WORLD Dirt Racing League FREEPORT, ILL. (August. 30) - The WORLD Dirt Racing League will again serve as the governing body during this year's running of "The Rebel 100" here at Freeport Raceway Park. The Rebel will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, and Saturday, Sept. 6. It's the event's 13th year and the second as an event on the WDRL Late Model Series schedule. Friday night's main event features a 25-lap race for the WDRL Late Models. The action starts with practice slated for 6 p.m. with the CrashedToys.com Heat Races to follow. On Saturday night, it's a 75-lap feature. Hot laps begin at 5:15 p.m. Iowa-Illinois Taylor Insulation Group Qualifying is scheduled for 5:30, and the CrashedToys.com Heat Races are set for 6. WDRL Late Model Series points will be awarded on both nights. Along with the WDRL Late Model Series, fans will be treated to the legendary "Big Foot" monster truck during intermission both nights. In addition, the Jo Davies County Fair Queen will be trackside for autographs and pictures.
