WORLD DIRT RACING LEAGUE IS AT I-80 SPEEDWAY THIS SUNDAY GREENWOOD, Neb. (May 22, 2009) -- The is the one Midwest racing fans have been talking about and waiting for -- the gathering of America's finest Late Model drivers at one track on one night! The stars of the WORLD Dirt Racing League will take on their brethren from the MLRA and NCRA series in the Alphabet Soup race here this Sunday, May 24, at I-80 Speedway. WDRL stars expected to compete include defending series champion Chad Simpson; the Wisconsin gentleman, John Kaanta; and Denny and Dave, the flying Eckrich brothers. All expected to sign in are these hard-charging series regulars: Al Purkey, Eric Pember, Gordie Seegart, Chad Mahder, Chris Simpson, Rob Moss and Matt Furman, among others. They'll all go up against the top MLRA and NCRA drivers in the 30-car feature event that will top off a full, exciting night of racing. That's right -- there will be 30 cars and drivers going for 50 hard laps in the Alphabet Soup headliner. Fans are invited to the pits immediately following Sunday night's races to meet the drivers and get autographs from them. Series drivers are always very happy to meet the fans and sign autographs. Driver registration opens at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, with practice at 5:30 and racing at 6. Next up on the 2009 WORLD Dirt Racing League schedule is a giant four-race swing starting June 17 at North Central Speedway in Brainerd, Minn. From there, WDRL moves June 18 to Superior Speedway in Superior. Wis., and ends up at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., for exciting Friday and Saturday night events on June 19 and 20.
