MOBIL 1 BRINGS THE WORLD DIRT RACING LEAGUE TO MINERAL CITY SPEEDWAY
40-lap race with added prize money is set for Monday, July 13, at the Fort Dodge, Iowa, track

FORT DODGE, Iowa (July 5, 2009) - It should be a barn-burner! On Monday, July 13, Mobil 1 is sponsoring the popular WORLD Dirt Racing League's appearance here at Mineral City Speedway in Fort Dodge Iowa.

The race, billed as the Mobil 1 40, will highlight a full night of racing action for the Midwest-based dirt track touring series for Late Models.

"Mobil 1 has come on board in a big way to help promote this race," said Jim Wilson of the WDRL, "adding $5,000 to the already-large purse of the Mobil 1 40."

He said $1,800 of the Mobil 1 sponsorship money will be added to the first-place prize, so the race winner will claim $6,800 for his efforts. The rest of the $5,000 from Mobil 1 is being spread among those who finish second through fifth in the headliner. In addition, Mobil 1 has sent each competitor who pre-entered the race two cases of their Mobil 1 synthetic racing oil.

Fans aren't being left out, either. Mobil 1 will be giving the first 1,000 fans who attend the race a free T-shirt. Mobil 1 also will be awarding prizes to spectators throughout the night's events and will hold a drawing during the race for two tickets to a NASCAR Sprint Cup race.

"We are very excited to be going to Mineral City Speedway in the first place," Wilson said. "It's a nice facility, and we are really looking forward to seeing the WDRL drivers race there. But we are also thrilled about Mobil 1 coming on board as a race sponsor for this event and for the effort they are putting out to make this a huge and successful race for everyone."

Some of the drivers WORLD Dirt Racing League officials expect to see at the Mobil 1 40 are Iowan Chad Simpson, the 2008 WDRL champion and current point leader; Al Purkey, a fine driver from Kansas who is currently second in series points; Denny and Dave, eastern Iowa's Flying Eckrich Brothers; and John Kaanta, the Wisconsin Gentleman.

Also expected to sign in are Chris Simpson, Eric Pember, Chad Mahder, Brian Birkhofer, John Anderson, Gordie Seegart, Rob Moss, Curt Martin, Jeremy Grady, Tim Isenberg, Andrew McKay, Matt Furman and others.

Said Wilson: "Mobil 1's presence has added a lot of excitement to this race. This will be one race that spectators will not want to miss."
