CHAD SIMPSON WINS SECOND WORLD DIRT RACING LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP IN A ROW
Late Model touring series' top drivers to be honored Nov. 14 in Tama, Iowa


GILMAN CITY, MO (Oct. 13) - Chad Simpson of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, is the 2009 WORLD Dirt Racing League points champion. This is Simpson's second championship in two seasons.

Simpson and the Midwest-based Late Model dirt track touring series' other champion drivers will be honored on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the WORLD Dirt Racing League's annual awards banquet at Meskwaki Casino and Hotel in Tama, Iowa.

In addition to Simpson, the rest of the top 10 drivers in final point standings who will be honored are:

2. Denny Eckrich
3. Al Purkey
4. Dave Eckrich
5. Chad Mahder
6. Tim Isenberg
7. Rob Moss
8. Eric Pember
9. Bill Koons
10. John Kaanta

Mahder, winner of the 2009 Chase Signs and Graphics Rookie-of-the-Year competition, will also be feted.

In addition, point fund checks will be presented No. 14 to the top five finishers in the 2009 Iowa-Illinois Taylor Insulation Pole Dash point standings. They are:

2. Al Purkey
3. Chad Mahder
4. Tim Isenberg
5. Denny Eckrich

Cocktails and hors douvres will be served at 6 p.m. on Nov. 14, with dinner at 7 and the WDRL awards ceremony to start after dinner.

Tickets may be purchased for $25 each by mailing a check or money order to the WORLD Dirt Racing League, 302 Gilbert Ave., Gilman City, MO. 64642.

Special hotel room rates are available at Meskwaki Casino and Hotel by mentioning WDRL when making a reservation.
