Aaron Reutzel Passes Tyler Courtney Late at Central Arizona to Repeat with High Limit
Casa Grande, AZÂ (March 28, 2025) – After opening 2025 with four different winners through the opening four races, Aaron Reutzel and Ridge & Sons Racing became the first repeat victors of the Kubota High Limit Racing season – doing so in back-to-back fashion.
Last Saturday, one week removed from a hospital trip in the season opener, the Clute, Texas native dominated all 30 laps at Perris Auto Speedway for his first win of the year. On Friday at Central Arizona Speedway, the story was a bit different and required a late-race pass for the lead to get his second-straight score.
Starting from P3 on the grid, the No. 87 hounded polesitter Tyler Courtney for the majority of the race and event took the lead momentarily on Lap 11 before a caution negated his pass. The winning move ultimately came on Lap 20 when Courtney slipped up off the bottom and allowed Reutzel to storm around the outside and take control of the top spot.
Reutzel’s second trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane and subsequent second Casm Safety Products Win Sticker makes him the seventh driver in Kubota High Limit Racing history to win back-to-back with the series. He joins the likes of Kyle Larson, Rico Abreu, Tyler Courtney, Corey Day, Brad Sweet, and Trey Starks in that category.
After pacing the opening 20 laps, “Sunshine” Tyler Courtney settled for a second-place finish in the Clauson-Marshall Racing, NOS Energy Drink No. 7BC. Although it wasn’t his first win of the year, the Indianapolis, IN racer did close the gap to 38 points behind Brad Sweet’s Kasey Kahne Racing No. 49 for the early-season championship lead.
Closing out the podium was Justin Peck aboard the Rudeen Racing No. 26 with a third-place finish marking his season-best effort with Kubota High Limit Racing.
Rounding out the top-10 on Friday at Central Arizona was Brad Sweet, Tanner Holmes, Spencer Bayston, Daison Pursley, Brent Marks, Brenham Crouch, and Rico Abreu.
