August will be hot and fast at Davenport Speedway

DAVENPORT, Ia. (August 7, 2013) – As the 2013 racing season is winding down at the Davenport Speedway, the racing action will be intense. Track championships in all five weekly classes will be determined, as there are only three point races remaining.

This Friday, August 9th, the 4-Stock 50 comes to town. $2,000 awaits the winner of the 50-lap main. Weekly DRT TRAK Racing Inc., rules will apply for the event. The rules can be found at the track’s website “davenportspeedway.com”.

Also racing will be the Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Models, EMS IMCA Modifieds, Hawkeye Auto IMCA SportMods, and Koehler Electric Street Stocks, competing for weekly track points. All the racing action will be on the quarter-mile dirt oval.

Friday, August 16th, is the final Kid’s Night of the season, with Powder Puff Races as a special attraction.

Friday, August 23rd is Season Championship night at the Davenport Speedway. Track championships in each of our weekly classes will be on the line. The point leader in each class will have the option of taking the “Back Row Challenge” for extra money.

 

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. Pit gates open at 4:30pm, the grandstand at 5:00pm, with hotlaps at 6:30 and racing at 7:00pm.
