Autograph Session Along With Tight Point Races Highlight Midway Racing Night
LEBANON, MO (June 12, 2012) – Fans at the Midway Speedway will get a chance to meet their favorite drivers Saturday Night as the Midway Speedway holds its first on track autograph session.
This allows the fans a chance to go on the track and meet the drivers competing in the Championship Chase at intermission.This also gives the fans a rare chance to get a close look at the cars that compete weekly.
A new point leader is in the number one spot in the Factory Stock point standings as Tim Petty now has the point lead.Petty’s win along with a rough night for Brandon Waters and Brian Schutt not competing has vaulted the former champion back to the lead.The Factory class has been seeing different winners each week along with great racing competition.Another former champion Bob Gustin has moved into the runner up position while last weeks leaders Brandon Waters annd Brian Schutt complete the top 4.
Ted Ballinger still holds the B-Modified lead over last weeks winner Cody Nivens with a 34 point lead.Nivens has two wins this season and Ballinger one win.Bill Schaar, DeWayne Hobbs and Tim Ballinger finish the top 5. The Modifieds are seeing several different winners each week and some close racing.
Rob White got back in the winners circle last week and now has a 22 point advantage over defending champ Matt Young.These two drivers have beeb battling each week with very close finishes.Jim Alexstates, Rookie Caleb Starnes along with Bo Alexstates finish out the top 5 leaders.
Sam Petty has had a dominating season in the MidWest Modified class,but Lebanon’s Travis Hill is staying close in the standings.Hill only trails Petty by 31 points while another Petty, Jamie holds third spot followed by Billy Pearce and Mark Davis.
Mark Simon of Buffalo maintains a 82 point lead over defending champion Joe Francis.Simon has been out of the winners circle the last 2 weeks and is trying to get back in stride.Rookie Brandon Henderson,lady driver Karla Lampe and matt Darnell finish out the remaining 5.
Grandstand gates open at 5PM with hot laps at 6:40 and racing set to start at 7:30PM.Adult admission is only $10 with kids 11-15 only $5.Kids under 11 are Free.
