Casey’s General Store Night at I-35 Speedway a Roaring Success!!!

 

WINSTON, MO (September 24, 2016) – As the pits filled with fast race cars and opening ceremonies complete, Pure Stock would take to the track for racing action. Heat race winner J R Billings #185 would take the early lead and hold off the challenges of ever present Cody King #29 and Conner Masoner #47X. As these three battled for the lead Carson Masoner #20X would race through traffic and pass them for the lead and never look back on his way to victory #15 this 2016 racing season. King would pass Billings on the high side to claim second with Billings a very close third on the night. Fourth place would go to Conner Masoner with Beau Wells #555 rounding out the night’s top five.

E-Modified would try and tame the track next with the familiar face of Matt Dorssom #3D racing his way to McCarthy Auto Group Winners Circle for the sixteenth time this 2016 racing season. Dorssom would make his move to the front early and never look back with Josh Munsen 19X hot on his heels placing a very close second. Heat race winner Randy Smith Jr #20X would be among the leaders all feature and finish third as Anthony Asher #37A would come home fourth. Fifth place would belong to Allie Mulich #90 making her return to the racing scene showing no signs of rust as she competed on a very high level. Other heat race winner was Manlee Lamar #4M who was among the leaders early until issues took him from contention.

#3D “MadDog” Matt Dorssom, E-Modified Feature Winner!

Chargers would witness a great race between last week’s feature winner Bill Graham #43 and heat race winner Houston Johnson #97 as the two would race side by side for the win. Graham would take the early lead only to see Johnson move to the low line and into the lead and on to the feature win. Mich Ross #98M would place second with Graham a close third. Fourth would go to John Hanson #154 with Marty Powell #9p fifth.

Midwest Lightning Sprints would fly to the track and see Jason Billups #2 pick up his fifth win in a row and sixth win on the year at I-35 Speedway this 2016 racing season. Billups would take the lead on lap number one and dominate the field with heat race winner Mark Billings #51 second. Wesley Smith #9S would move through the pack to finish third with Mike Trent #85 fourth and Tyler Miller #25M fifth.

USRA B-Modifieds would e in fine form with two and three wide racing throughout the field of competitors. Randy Ainsworth #57 and heat race winner Tim Eaton #211 would battle for the lead in the early going with other heat race winner Ed Noll #15 also in the mix vying for the front. As the laps wound down, another heat race winner would make his way to the front and pass all challengers as Steve Starmer #11S would again use the high line to perfection and win the feature. Doug Keller #7 would be the big mover of the race until contact with Tim Eaton would slow their momentum allowing Ed Noll to get by on the top and place second. Eaton would end the feature third with Keller a close fourth. Jeremy Pittsenbarger #32P would race his way to a solid fifth place showing.

#11s “Storming” Steve Starmer, USRA B-Modified Feature Winner!

USRA Stock Cars were low in number but very high in quality as Jason Estes #997 would continue his winning ways by capturing the checkers in both heat race and feature. Estes would go unchallenged to pick up his eleventh win of 2016 at I-35 Speedway. Second would go to Jon Boller Jr #20X with Billie Hoover #21H third and Christopher Smith #1 a close fourth place.

As we would start the USRA Modified Feature the rains would come with five laps in the books causing the race to be finished next week 8/1/2016 along with the sport Compact Feature.
