OSBORN, Mo. – A full night of competition greeted both competitors and fans Friday at US 36 Raceway and a multi-groove race track provided for intense racing all night long.

Chad Clancy dominated the IMCA Modified feature in route to his first trip to Westfall GMC Victory Lane this season. Steven Bowers quickly charged from a fifth place starting position to try to challenge Clancy. Clancy never wavered from the bottom of the race track, while Bowers worked the cushion for most of the race. After several early cautions, Clancy managed the gap to get the win, with Bowers second. Shayne Bailey finished third the hard way coming from the back twice after involvement in two early incidents. New track point leader Chad Andersen finished fourth with early race leader Brandon Williams in fifth.

The Non-Winged Sprints made their first appearance at US 36 this season and Mitchell Moore jumped to the early lead in the feature. Quickly though, Chad Goff worked to the inside to take his turn up front. He led the first half of the race before Wyatt Burks found a ton of speed on the high side. After starting seventh, Burks led the second half of the race on his way to the win. Goff finished second with Chris Parkinson third. Dylan Kadous and Brian Beebe rounded out the top five.

The IMCA Sprint Cars again saw two distinct grooves from the drivers up front. Kenny Potter led early using the low line, while Jay Russell tried the high line. Further back, Monty Ferriera ran the low line, with Tyler Drueke on the top. Once the race found a rhythm, so did Ferriera as he worked his way to the lead. Ferriera would go on to win the race, with Russell second, Drueke third and Potter in fourth. Alex Salzman finished in the fifth spot.

The IMCA Stock Cars saw a tight battle between Steve Starmer and Anthony Robertson for the win. The front row starters distanced themselves from the rest of the field after one early yellow and settled the race between the two of them. Each lap, Robertson would work to the inside of Starmer off of turn two, but never could make a strong enough run to complete the pass. Starmer earned the win with Robertson second. Mich Ross, Thomas Roberts and JJ Baumli made up the rest of the top five.

Truman Asher quickly moved to the lead in the IMCA Sport Mod feature and although he led most of the race it didn’t come uncontested. Both Steven Clancy and Chris Wright had opportunities to make a move to the lead. The two though ended up battling between themselves on the final green-white-checkered restart allowing Asher to drive away with the win. Wright finished second with Clancy third. Jeffrey Sears and Tim Eaton finished fourth and fifth.

In the E-Modifieds, Justin Asher put together one of the most dominate performances of the night as he cruised to the win. Shawn Burns patiently worked his way to second from a ninth place starting position, but ran out of time to catch Asher. Casey Burnett, Gary Ainsworth and Josh Adkins rounded out the top five.

Logan Headley earned the Pure Stock win from a second place starting position. He never had more than a few car length advantage over Nate Barnes, but Headley also never made a mistake. Barnes finished second, with Kasey Ayers third, Spencer Reiff fourth and Brandon Hoover fifth.

Up next at US 36 Raceway, Friday, June 19, is the second attempt at running the Budweiser Shootout. The Sprint Series of Nebraska headlines the event. The USAC Midwest Wingless Racing Association will also be racing. In addition, the IMCA Stock Cars will battle for $700 to win and $100 to start in the running of the Doyle Lance Remembrance Stock Car race. The E-Modifieds and Pure Stocks will also be in action.
