Dirt Works returns as title sponsor of IMCA’s Eastern Region

ORONOGO, Mo. (Feb. 11) – A chassis builder long associated with the IMCA Modified division returns as a regional title sponsor this season.

Dirt Works Race Cars, now of Oronogo, Mo., will furnish a portion of the $6,000 point fund to be paid to top 10 drivers in official 2013 standings for the Eastern Region.

The Dirt Works Eastern Region includes sanctioned tracks in New York, Pennsylvania and Michigan. 

Purchased by Jerry Hoffman last August and now a sister company to Hoffman Race Cars, Dirt Works originally became a regional title sponsor in 1996 and maintained that partnership with IMCA through the 2004 race season.

“It’s neat to be able to do something like this with IMCA again,” Hoffman said. “They’re the backbone of grassroots racing and have the best rule structure out there. IMCA is what we all need to get back to.” 

Hoffman started racing a Modified in 1993 and worked for Dirt Works from 1994-1999. 

“(Owner) Mike Clark told me I needed to get out on my own and that I’d succeed,” Hoffman recalled. “I’ve always had a place in my heart for Dirt Works Race Cars. This company has always meant a lot to me and I know the same is true for a lot of other racers, because Dirt Works has built like 3,200 Modifieds.”

Regional championships pay $2,500. Regional point fund checks will be presented during the national awards banquet in November or mailed beginning the following week from the IMCA home office. 

Dirt Works was first title sponsor for the South Central Region. The company was title sponsor for five of the seven IMCA Modified regions from 1999-2004.

“The Dirt Works brand is embedded in the history of the IMCA Modified and resurrecting this partnership is really exciting,” said IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “We want to help drivers recognize they are still building quality race cars and are more than pleased to have them as the face of one of our Modified regions.”
