BROKEN BOW, OK (March 5, 2013) – This weekend Eric Turner will kick off his 2013 season behind the wheel of the Pannell Chipping, Lucas Oil, Don Babb Motorsports, Moyer Victory Circle Race Car. He will be competing in the most prestigious race in the state of Louisiana. The Third Annual Pelican 100 will take place Thursday through Saturday at Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, LA.  “I’ve never raced at this track before,” commented Turner. “I expect it to be really racey. I’ve talked to a few different racers who have run there and they speak very highly of the place.”

It will also be Turner’s first time in his new car. “I have a ton of confidence in our car,” Turner said. He will also have the help of Billy Moyer, who will be there racing this weekend as well. Turner also knows tire selection will be critical. “The toughest thing will be to choose the proper tires for the race; I need whatever I put on, to last for all 100 laps.” The field will be tough in Louisiana, as the main event pays $10,000 to win and neither of the national series is in action this weekend.

Practice will take place Thursday evening. Time trials and heat races are on the agenda for Friday, and the main event is slated for Saturday evening. “It’s really important to go get a race in before the Lucas Oil MLRA season starts, just to get comfortable in the car,” Turner said. “But, I’m going down there to compete, and I expect to run up front.”
