DONNELLSON, Iowa (April 18, 2012) – The weather forecast for Friday has cleared up and it now calls for high chance of racing action finally getting underway at Lee County Speedway, Donnellson, Iowa.

Hy-Vee and Midwest Performance bring one of the biggest shows of the year to the facility, as they host the Together WE Fight Hunger 25 for 35 in honor of Brian Hetrick. The race boasts a $1,000 to win and $200 to start 305 sprint car race and now a $500 to win Shottenkirk Parts Express IMCA Sport Mod race.

As well as being a sponsor for the night, Hy-Vee is also helping with one of the best parts of the event, the campaign to raise money to purchase necessities for area food pantries. Money donations will be taken throughout the night and for every $25 raised as part of the event, Hy-Vee will donate $10 more when food is purchased at either the Fort Madison or Keokuk Hy-vee. So that means Hy-Vee will make every $25 into $35 worth of nonperishable food items for food pantries in the area!

Many great sponsors have come on board to help make the event special! Including H&P Excavating, which will sponsor a dash to help set up the front three rows of the feature event. Each heat winner as well as the top cars in passing points will be used to fill the six car field for the H&P Excavating Dash. The pay for the H&P Excavating Dash is listed at the end of the story.

Also, pay will be given for the B-main (if needed) in the sprint car division. The top four spots will transfer to the main event, while 5th will get $150, 6th $125 and the rest of the field will get $100.

Tow money for the Sprint Cars will be $50. Tow money will be paid to any car attempting to qualify for the event, but did not run a main event.

There is still a little time to pre-register for the great contingency prizes that will be given away to pre-registered drivers! Pre-registration is only $25 and will also serve as the driver’s pit pass on the night of the event. Contingency prizes come from Jockos, Boubin Tire & Wheel, Vortex Racing Products, Midland Performance, Kustom Sprintcar Products, and several others!

Arrowhead Bowl came on board to help add the great payout for the Shottenkirk Parts Express IMCA Sport Mods, which will be running for $500 to win. The top eight spots will earn $100 or more! The full payout will be listed at the end of the story.

Also running during the event will be Mod Lites, Coors Light IMCA Hobby Stocks and Sunline Auto Parts IMCA Sport Compacts. Gates will open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 7 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. Grandstands will open at 5:30 p.m.

All pit passes will be $25, while grandstand admission for Adults will be $12, Seniors $10, Students 11-17 $7 and 10 and under are free!
