Hanes, Wray, Wilson, Stanton and Glenn cash in at I-35 Speedway!

WINSTON, MO (April 21, 2012) – It was Walker Dozing and Excavating night at I-35 Speedway as four drivers got their first wins of the 2012 season and one driver won for the second time this season. Ninty cars checked in for night number three of racing action and fans packed the stands for a fun night of racing.
Nic Hanes of Trenton, Missouri used a great moved to split two cars and motored away for his second win of his career in the IMCA SportMod division. Hanes held off opening night winner Chad Clancy of Smithville, Missouri who had made a run after starting in the sixth row. Last weeks winner Jeff Stotts of Trenton, Missouri was third followed by Tony Manley of Osborn, Missouri and Huey Jacobs from Stewartsville, Missouri. Bobby Penny from Excelsior Springs won the hard charger award.
Coming into tonight Mike Nichols was on a roll. Friday night he picked up his 250th IMCA Stock Car win and had visited victory lane the first two weeks of the 2012 season at I-35. Tonight a man who probably has visited victory lane more than anyone at I-35 Speedway since it opened finally found his groove in the IMCA Stock Car class and stopped the streak at two and who did he credit with helping him? Mike Nichols. Dean Wray of Jamesport, Missouri picked up that win followed by Mike Nichols of Harlan, Iowa, Josh Steele of St. Joseph, Missouri, Bruce Fair of Trenton, Missouri who had a good battle with Nichols and Greg Keuhn and Pat Neely of St. Joseph, Missouri rounded off the top five. Nichols did go from tenth to second for the hard charger award.
Trenton, Missouri’s Bud Wilson became the first repeat winner in the Grand National class at I-35 Speedway. Wilson had a great battle with Mike Taylor Jr, Jason Anderson and Travis Walker. Wilson was able to motor away. Travis Walker of Cameron, Missouri was second, Mike Taylor Jr. from Kansas City was third, last weeks winner Jason Anderson from Kansas City was fourth and young Austin Johnson from Kansas City was fifth. Wilson also took home the hard charger.
Eric Stanton from Hartford, Iowa picked up win number one on the season and became the third different winner in the IMCA Hobby Stock class. Stanton ran away from last weeks winner Andrew Hustead from Rutledge, Missouri, Mich Ross from Maysville, Missouri left his prom early, started in the back of the feature and came home third, Lee Farmer of Bethany, Missouri was fourth and Grant City, Missouri’s Anthony Fletchall was fifth. Ross won the hard charger award.
Steven Glenn of Hamilton, Missouri used a great move to win his first feature of the 2012 season and became third different winner in the IMCA Modified class at I-35 Speedway. Glenn had a great battle with Yancy Shepard of Smithville, Missouri and Cory Wray of Jamesport, Missouri who finished second and third. Fourth went to Hunter Marriott of Brookfield, Missouri and fifth to Darren Shaw of Lathrop, Missouri. Glenn went from tenth to first to win the hard charger.
Next week the Midwest Outlaw Vintage Racers pay a visit and the new suite is open at $20 per ticket for adults, $18 for seniors which includes their general admission. See everyone next week at I-35 Speedway!
