BUCKNER, MO (April 19, 2012) – The Lucas Oil MLRA is honored to announce the addition of Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas to the already exciting slate of racing action in 2012. Known for its wildly popular modified racing, the Hummer, will come to life with 850 plus horsepower Dirt Late Models on Friday June 1st. “I’m so excited to be racing at Humboldt Speedway again,” commented MLRA Promoter Harriett Chancellor. “We have heard about all the wonderful improvements Ron Whitworth and his wife Rhenda have made to the facility, it will be a special race this season for sure.”  It’s the first time the series has competed at the southeastern Kansas oval since the 2003 season.

In other series news, an addition to the rules will be in place starting with the May 12th John Kuntz Memorial at Springfield Raceway. All race car body sides shall be constructed from solid sheet metal only. This includes doors and quarter panels on both the right and left side of the race car. Any mesh, vinyl or combination thereof consisting of anything other than solid sheet metal, on any part of the body sides, will be deemed illegal and unsuitable for competition. All body measurements must conform to what is stated in the series rules and within the race car body illustrations, found on the rules tab of MLRAracing.com.
