IMCA World Products Stock Car Shootout features all pay $1,000 to win
ALTA, Iowa (June 29) – Three $1,000 to win features and the return to a traditional home track highlight IMCA’s July 2-4 World Products Stock Car Shootout series.
IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars get top billing at specials Monday, July 2 at Buena Vista Raceway in Alta; Tuesday, July 3 at Marshalltown Speedway; and Wednesday, July 4 at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa.
Southern Iowa Speedway had hosted the sanctioned Stock Car Shootout until 2003. The original IMCA event was held at Osky in 1996.
A point fund of $1,500 will be paid to top 10 drivers in points competing at all three events. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Mallory home region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded each night; local track points will also be given at Alta and Oskaloosa.
BVR’s July 2 show doubles as the annual Kyle Suter Memorial. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts complete the sanctioned portion of the race program.
A $1,000 top check is up for grabs when Northern SportMods take to the track the next night at Marshalltown, where Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts see action as well.
The finale falls on Osky’s regular race night. Once the checkers fly for Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock, Northern SportMods and Sport Compacts, the final order of holiday business will be a fireworks display to celebrate the Fourth.
Modifieds and Northern SportMods also contend for $1,000 to win that evening.
Racing starts at 7:30 p.m. at Alta, at 7 p.m. at Marshalltown and at 6 p.m. at Oskaloosa.
The Shootout champion earns a set of cylinder heads from World Products and, if not already qualified to do so, becomes eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals in September.
