WAR Sprint Cars And Legends Coming To Midway September 8th
LEBANON, MO (Sept 4, 2012) – Non-Wing Sprint Cars and Missouri Legend Cars will be competing Saturday Night September 8th at the Lebanon Midway Speedway in addition to the regular racing program.
The WAR Non-Wing Sprint Car Series will be coming into the Lebanon, Missouri Dirt-track giving the area race fans some old time open-wheeleed excitement.
The WAR Series features Sprint Cars without the big wing holding it down and offers Sprint Car drivers of all types an equal playing ground as it doesn’t matter what motor size is under the hood whether it is 305,360 or 410 Cubic Inches.
The first year series has been averaging around 18 plus entries per event and several drivers from the Northern part of the state will be heading the field. Kansas 305 King Pin Mitchell Moore won the last race in Bethany, Mo. while Higginsville driver Austin Alumbaugh leads the Series points. Alumbaugh has past experience at Midway as does top drivers Steven Cross of Clinton, Frank Brown along with others.
Also the popular Missouri Legend Cars will be competing in addition to the regular points battles including Factory Stocks, B Modifieds, Midwest Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Street Stocks. The Legend Cars are 3/4 scale spec cars that provide lots of close racing action. A good field of Legends are expected as those drivers are trying to gather all the National Points they can this season. The Legends have been to Midway once this season as Joplin’s Justin Comer grabbed the win. Many of these drivers come from the Joplin area along with Springfield and Rolla area.
Grandstand gates at slated to open at 5PM with hot laps to start at 6:40. Time Trials for the Sprint Cars are at 7:10 and Racing action for this special event starts at 7:30PM.
Grandstand Admission is only $15 for Adults while kids prices remain the same pricee as normal. Pit Gates open at 5PM while pit passes will be $30.
