Loyet Motorsports Prepares Four Car Field at Chili Bowl

SUNSET HILLS, Mo. (Dec. 16, 2012)- Loyet Motorsports will enter four Spike/Esslinger-powered midgets in 2013 Chili Bowl Nationals held at Tulsa Expo Raceway in Tulsa, Okla. January 8-12, 2013. Each entry represents a headlining sponsor of the Loyet Motorsports team: Vacuworx Global, Miller Truck Lines, Tulsa Pipeline Expo and Loyet Landscape Maintenance. 

Piloting the o5 for Loyet Motorsports is Brad Loyet of Sunset Hills, Mo. In his 10th year of Chili Bowl competition, Loyet has made five Main Event starts and is seeking to improve his highest finish of 10th. Loyet was crowned champion of the Vacuworx Invitational Race of Champions in 2010. 

For the first time, Shane Cottle of Kokomo, Ind. will be in an o5C. This year will mark Cottle’s 14th year seeking the Golden Driller. With nine Main Event starts, Cottle’s highest finishing position is second in 2000. In total, Cottle has earned three top-fives and six top-tens in Main Event competition. Last year, Cottle finished 16th in the Main Event and second in his preliminary event. 

Snohomish, Wash. native Gary Taylor will return to his post of the o5T in 2013 and it will mark his 11th year at Chili Bowl. Taylor is seeking to improve upon his highest Main Event finish of 12th in 2009 and this marks the third year of he joins Loyet Motorsports for this event. 

Additionally, Bud Kaeding of Campbell, Cali. will pilot an o5K for the first time. Kaeding’s highest Chili Bowl finish is third in 2000 and hopes to advance that in his 13th year of at Chili Bowl. In 2012, Kaeding finished 19th in the Main Event and ninth in his preliminary event.
