Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series May 3rd Tri City Speedway (IL) Event Canceled
PONTOON BEACH, IL (May 2, 2013) – Tomorrow’s Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL has been canceled. With the upcoming predicted Thursday Night & Friday forecasts, an agreement between Tri-City Speedway and LOLMDS officials were left with no option but to cancel the event.
“One to three inches of rain are forecasted over the next 48 hours, followed by extreme low
temperatures,” said Promoter Kevin Gundaker. “Our concerns for our fans and teams traveling to this event and incurring costs over the next couple of days while being subjected to the inclement weather
led to what we collectively felt was the prudent decision. We are extremely disappointed that the weather has not cooperated.”
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt series will be back in action this weekend on Saturday night, May 4th, at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, KY. The event will be packed with RED BUCK Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and the 50-Lap feature, paying $10,000 to win.
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will make its return to Tri-City Speedway on July 12th, to kick off it’s annual Midwest summer tour which will include 7 nights of racing in just 9 days. Stops on the tour will also include Lucas Oil Speedway’s “Diamond Nationals” on July 13th, Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS on July 16th, Hamilton County (IA) Speedway on July 17th, and the “Sliver Dollar Nationals” at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, NE from July 18th-20th.
