MEDIA DAY, CAR SHOW, AND “TEST AND TUNE” SESSION THIS SATURDAY AT HAWKEYE DOWNS SPEEDWAY
Cedar Rapids, IA (April, 28, 2015) – The first event of the 2015 Hawkeye Downs racing season is this Saturday, May 2 with the annual Car Show, Media Day, and Test & Tune kicking off the 90th season of racing at historic Hawkeye Downs Speedway.
From 10am-1pm race fans and the media can get a first look at some of the cars that will compete at Hawkeye Downs in 2015 as well as talk to drivers and crews.
Weather permitting, the action moves to the track at 1:00pm with the first Test & Tune session of the season.
Admission to both the Car Show and Test & Tune session are free!
The first race of the 2015 HyVee Championship Series is slated for Friday, May 8 with the first green flag waving at 7:30pm.
Five big divisions will again battle on the quarter-mile and half-mile asphalt ovals in 2015. Carpetland USA Late Models, Mountain Dew Sportsmen, Barron Motor Supply Hobby Stocks, Sunline Hornets, and Dublin City Pub Legends will take to the track each Friday night through August 21.
The season wraps up on Saturday, September 5th when Hawkeye Downs hosts the ARCA Midwest Tour “Summer Shootout 100.”
